Just minutes after eliminating the infamous Mike “Boogie” Malin, Big Brother contestant Ashley found herself walking out the door as well.
Ashley was not known as the best player of the season, but her reign as the season’s most sought after date came to an end Thursday when she was eliminated during a double eviction week.
After her eviction Ashley explained to PEOPLE her “dating” escapades in the house, her desire to create a female alliance and her confusion during the final plea speeches.
What was your plan with your final plea to stay in the house?
To be honest, I can’t even remember what I said. I’m the worst person to receive a double eviction speech. I’m not good at public speaking. I think I used the word ‘articulate’ in there. At that point, I knew Joe had done so much work earlier that week that there was no way I was going to stay. I should have worked the girl alliance more.
What did you think of Joe’s silent final plea speech?
I didn’t even understand it. I [think] he was making fun of me. I was half out of it because I knew I was going home. Someone who had said so many mean things and someone that no one seemed to like it’s just weird that they kept him over me.
So why do you think they chose to save Joe?
I think because he showed his loyalty to Janelle [when she was eliminated] and he did more work than I did with more people in the house so the numbers were in his favor. I made a huge gamble, but lost.
Let’s talk about your date-turned-make-out-session with Frank.
I regret using the word “date” in any sentence in that house. I really just wanted to eat ice cream and Frank said he wanted to eat ice cream so I asked him if he wanted to have an ice cream date. I was trying to be optimistic. Knowing that Frank is a [competition] machine so maybe that would have helped me but it wasn’t really part of my strategy.
You also seemed to express interest in Ian.
Apparently it does not pay to be nice in the house. Everyone knew that if Ian asked me out on a date I would say yes. And the whole house was in on it. It was just supposed to be fun and innocent.
Did you see the double elimination coming on Thursday?
I never really expected it, but maybe I should have expected it. The game was so much different this year that I just didn’t expect it.
Anything you would have done differently?
Yeah, a million things. I would have campaigned harder to establish the girl alliance. We mentioned it once, but it never materialized. I wouldn’t have made my move so quickly either. And I’m extremely disappointed with Ian. I should have trusted my gut instincts more in the game.
