Rollo Weeks
Visitors to the set of “The Little Vampire” last year were treated to an uncommon sight: A young vampire on a skateboard.
That’s because Rollo Weeks — the 13-year-old actor who plays the title role in the New Line feature released just in time for Halloween — couldn’t resist taking a spin, despite being clad as Dracula’s youngest son, fangs and all.
“I was in makeup an hour in the morning every day and they’d have to redo it every three or four hours because I went skateboarding a lot and got very sweaty,” says Weeks, who says he often went boarding with co-star Jonathan Lipnicki.
An 11-year show biz veteran, Weeks, who lives in Great Britain’s West Sussex, says the effects-laden pic turned out better than he expected, given how difficult and tiring it was to film. Pretending to fly, he adds, was an unusual experience. “We didn’t move at all and we had wind blowing in our faces and we had to go, ‘Whoaaa!’ ”

Next up for Weeks, another potentially gruesome character: the young Attila the Hun, whom he’ll play in an upcoming TV movie.
“He had quite a traumatic life so he is tough to play,” says Weeks. “He watched his dad get killed and his entire village get slaughtered and he had to live in the wilderness for two weeks.”
Familiar to British audiences thanks to roles on the BBC series “It Might Be You,” and as Lord Louis Wilton in the miniseries “Berkeley Square,” Weeks says he nevertheless must occasionally face rejection.
“I was up for Harry Potter, but I didn’t get it. I wasn’t disappointed. I can get back to school and get back to my work.”
As for acting, Weeks says, “It’s a pretty good job. There’s nothing else I’d rather do.”
